Working closely with staff to enable your children to learn to love and achieve in reading is THE most important way you can help your child succeed in school and life.
We are very proud of our beautiful well stocked school library which is an important and valuable resource. The library has a wide range of fiction and non-fiction books, including several copies of every book on the recommended school reading lists. Pupils are taught how to use the library appropriately and how to find and choose books that interest and excite them.
All children from Reception to Year 6 are entitled to borrow and take books home from the school library on a one book at a time basis. The school librarian supports children in choosing books and every class has a fortnightly timetabled visit to the library. If your child loses a book they will not be able to take out another one until you have paid a £1 fine or replaced the book with one of similar quality.
Children can use the library independently at lunch and playtimes, and parents can visit with their children before and after school, according to the timetable.
